Host Company Description:

The host company is a year-round resort offering winter ski slopes and summer amusement activities located in the heart of the popular Great Smoky Mountains, in the town which offers thousands of shops, festivals, and fun for the whole family. The resort offers a great variety of food in their 7 food service outlets. Their menus include American dining staples such as hand cut steaks, chicken and pork entrees, grilled to perfection and served with homemade sides and seasonal menu options. The intern will learn how to prepare American casual dining menus in a high volume environment.

Position Description:

  • Learn all aspects of high volume food service
  • Assist in preparing food for service (e.g. chop vegetables, butcher meat, or prepare sauces)
  • Assist in preparing menu items under supervision
  • Advance management skills and supervisory duties

Applicant Qualifications:

  • To apply for the Internship program, applicants must be hospitality, tourism or culinary management undergraduate/graduate students OR a be recent graduates who begin program within 12 months of the graduation date
  • To apply for the Internship program, applicants must be hospitality, tourism or restaurant management undergraduate/graduate students OR a be recent graduates who begin program within 12 months of the graduation date
  • To apply for the Trainee program, applicants must hold hospitality, tourism or restaurant management degrees and have least 1 year of professional work experience related to the degree, OR be career professionals of 5 or more years of professional experience in this field
  • Some prior hospitality and guest service work experience is preferred
  • Advanced English is required
  • Must be able to work within a team, have a passion for cooking and serving customers, have a positive attitude, willing to continue to learn new recipes and methods
